Vindel River LIFE and MOTH arranged a national LIFE meeting on 8-9 October at Forsen Hotel in Vindeln, Västerbotten. A total of 25 project managers and financial managers from 10 different LIFE projects participated. The purpose of these meetings is to share experiences about different economic and organizational issues regarding our projects, and to keep our Swedish LIFE-network alive.
We initially took a short walk along Renforsen to get a sense of the surrounding and its history. The more formal meeting started after lunch, when many important issues were covered. During the second day, the participants were taken out on a field trip to Storkvarnbäcken, where Daniel Holmqvist talked about the restoration work that Vindel River LIFE has done there. Unfortunately, we did not see any big brown trout on the spawning grounds, even though it is in the middle of the spawning season. Hans Gardfjäll also talked about MOTH’s work with developing methods to monitor terrestrial habitats.
We from Vindel River LIFE and MOTH want to thank everyone who came and made the meeting so pleasant and interesting!
Below are some photos from the meeting and the fieldtrip.
